Some Civil Liberties Links

Firstly I would like to draw your attention to a new blog, Big Brother Britain and Civil Liberties, to which I offer my support.

Secondly, we see the long awaited return of David Davis to the cause of civil liberties, with an article in the Guardian. Links in the comments have led me to an anti-Communications Data Bill blog and a cynical view from one of our Lords.

And I hope within the next two days there will be plenty in the national press resulting from a couple of campaigns that are brewing.

  1. Thanks for your support for the Big Brother Britain blog. I see Jacqui Smith is intending to postpone the debate until the New Year. The cynic in me suspects that she believes that the furore will have died down by then! No chance, we need to keep the pressure up by ensuring that as many people as possible actually understand the implications of what is happening to our country.

  2. Thanks for the link.

I like the idea that this is emerging as a scattered, but loosely connected campaign, without anyone so far seeming to think that it needs to go under one all-encompassing umbrella.

Good luck to everyone and please keep sharing thoughts and ideas.

60 000 000 of us and only one Jacqui Smith with one stupid idea.
