Olympic Flag Ban

In order to stop people waving the flag of Tibet, China has banned all flags of countries that aren’t Olympic Members. This means that the UK flag (Union Jack) will be allowed, but not the flags of the individual countries that make up the UK.

It is, of course, reported by the BBC as a Saltire Ban, but applies equally to the Welsh Dragon and Cross of St George. The issue has been raised by an SNP MSP, the Scots still doing national pride well.

If only we had some English MPs willing to stick up for the English flag and our national pride.
