Britishness Won’t Unite Us

According to a new quango study from the Joseph Rowntree foundation. Will Brown u-turn on his Britishness agenda? Unlikely, he saves that for tax decisions, but the report is right to say it won’t unite us.

Identity cannot be taught top down, either an imaginary British identity or the segregationist multi-cultural one. I am proud of my English identity and will continue to celebrate it. Anyone is welcome to join me.

I wonder if the report picked up on the “uniting” aspects of only teaching Britishness in English schools?

Don’t you think the insane rules about flying the flag and many other ideas have had an ill effect on England and the UK ?
