88% Want EU Referendum

I Want a Referendum held mini-referenda on the Lisbon Treaty in 10 constituencies as Gordon Brown refuses to hold one for the whole country. Now the results are in with 88% supporting a referendum and 89% rejecting it. The turn out in the postal vote was 36%, as high as many local elections.

Now Gordon won’t give in but the pressure is on MPs in marginal constituencies, both Labour and Lib-Dem to rebel or face losing their seats next election.

Reports here from The Telegraph and The BBC. No mention on the Guardian website that I can spot yet.

Well done “I Want a Referendum”. If you live in a marginal your MP might like reminding of these figures.
