MEPs Protest in EU Parliament

Tory MEPDan Hannan writes about the protest he and around 50 others took part in, inside the EU parliament at the signing of the EU Charter of Fundamental rights. Other MEPs involved include fellow Tory Roger Helmer and UKIP led by Nigel Farage.

The UKIP link reports that TV coverage attempted to hide this protest which consisted largely of shouting referendum and carrying banners with the same word. A female member was dragged outside for trying to film it on a camera. Fellow Witan club member Is There More to Life than Shoes describes that here.

Now I have heard of protests outside a parliament but inside! It hardly says much for the standard of democracy inside of so many MEPs feel they have to speak up like this. I can’t imagine anything like this in the House of Commons!
